Oakland Carnival Food and Merchant Vendor Policies
- Vendor Setup Time: 8AM – 11AM
- Booth Spaces are 10x10 square feet each
- Assigned booth space is determined by a first come, first serve process – with discretion by staff to ensure competing vendors are not next to each other
- Any vehicles that remain in the Vendor Area after 11AM ***WILL BE TOWED AT OWNERS EXPENSE*** by the City of Oakland Parking Division. Please adhere to this.
- In the event of a Vendor Cancellation, no refunds will be given. Additionally, refunds will not be given due to any inclement weather condition. This is a rain or shine event.
- Vendors are prohibited from selling food or beverage items in their booths unless they have registered with the Festival Committee as a Food Vendor and have completed all necessary paperwork. Food vendors must have a self-contained trailer and provide proof of Alameda County Health Department food vendor permit as well as applicable permits from The City of Oakland.
- The selling of alcoholic beverages will not be permitted at this time
- All booths must be in operation during festival hours, from 12PM until 8:00PM. If a vendor breaks down early, they may forfeit an invitation to participate in future festivals.
- All vendors may begin to break down their product and equipment starting at 7:30PM. The park vending areas must be cleared by 8:30PM
- Vendor booths must fit within the assigned area of 10x10 that was indicated on the application. All vendors must supply their own tent, table, chairs, extension cords, displays and signage. The assembly and dismantling of booths are the sole responsibility of the vendor.
- Vendors are prohibited from bringing pets into the Festival area unless it is a service animal.
- Vendors must agree to abide by the above guidelines for the event. The Festival Committee is not responsible for any damages or loss. All Vendors hereby indemnify and agree to hold harmless the event officers, committee members, staff and agents, the City of Oakland, Alameda County, and the State of California, against all claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including the expense of litigation and attorney’s fees) asserted against or incurred by them arising in whole or in part out of Exhibitor/Vendor’s activities hereunder. Vendors agree that City of Oakland may rescind this agreement and revoke immediately the rights of the Vendor, his/her agents or his/her employees to exhibit space at the event for violation of the guidelines or any ordinance of the City of Oakland or any law of the State of California. Exhibitor/Vendor represents that all information provided in the application is true and correct.
