Our Mission
Celebrating the 10 Year Anniversary, Oakland Carnival & Wellness Festival operates with the mission to present Caribbean music, dance, food, African Diaspora culture and community wellness as uniting platforms. We strive to be a major catalyst in restoring health to our community through the Arts, with expanded wellness, greater fitness, thriving longevity and abundance.
Oakland Carnival & Wellness Festival is a multi-generational, culturally diverse, family-oriented, free community festival.
Who We Are
Oakland Carnival & Wellness Festival is Oakland’s premier Carnival event. Live performances on four cultural stages: the Latin Zone in the Ampitheater, Carijama Vibes in the Meadow and Axe’ Dance and Drum in the Wellness Pavilion and the MoniCarnival Youth Zone. Each area is being intentionally curated for community engagement while showcasing the strengths of the African Diaspora Carnival Arts with music, dance, and artistic uplift.
Community Ties
The Oakland Community has supported this Festival and 2024 will be the 10 year anniversary. This yearly community festival is hosted and presented by SambaFunk! with the support of the City of Oakland Mayor’s Office, California Arts Council, San Francisco Foundation, Deeply Rooted Initiative and a host of community curators. We are working diligently to offer the best Carnival experience on the West Coast.
Next years 10 Year Anniversary Festival will take place Saturday June 1st in historic Mosswood Park in Oakland California. It will be a great day of free family fun.
